Introduction

ToolAct (hereinafter referred to as "we") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use the ToolAct website (hereinafter referred to as "this site"). We firmly believe that developer tools should respect user privacy. Most of our tools run locally in your browser without sending any data to a server; a small set of file-conversion and network-diagnostic tools must process data on a server, and those pages clearly say so. Beyond the tool data that is processed locally, we only use Microsoft Clarity to collect anonymized usage data to improve the site.

Data Collection

We do not build analytics profiles from tool usage. For browser-only tools, we do not see the data you enter at all. For the small number of tools that require server-side processing (Office↔PDF, image format conversion, network diagnostics), the data needed for the operation passes through our server only for the duration of the request. We also use Microsoft Clarity to collect anonymized usage data (such as clicks, scrolling, and session recordings) to improve the site, but it does not collect your personal information or anything you enter into a tool:

• For browser-only tools, we do not receive the text, code, images, or other content you input
• For server-side tools, uploaded files are processed and then deleted from our server immediately after the operation
• We do not track which tools individual users access or their usage frequency, and we do not build behavioral profiles; Clarity collects anonymized behavior data that is not linked to your identity

Local Processing

Most tools on this site run in your browser using client-side JavaScript, so the data you enter stays on your device and is never transmitted over the network. A smaller set of tools — Office↔PDF conversion, image format conversion, and network diagnostics — must run on a server; the relevant pages say so, and uploaded data is deleted immediately after processing.

Cookies and Local Storage

The cookies and local storage we use fall into the following categories:

• Essential cookies: store your language and theme preferences so the site works correctly; always enabled
• Analytics cookies: Microsoft Clarity uses these for anonymized usage analytics (session recordings, heatmaps); you can disable them at any time in your browser settings
• This site currently does not use advertising cookies or third-party ad-tracking cookies

Third-Party Services

This site uses Microsoft Clarity for anonymized usage analytics, including session recordings, heatmaps, and click behavior, to help us understand how the site is used and improve it. Clarity anonymizes the data, does not collect personal information such as your name or email, and truncates IP addresses. You can learn more in the Microsoft Privacy Statement (https://privacy.microsoft.com/) and on the Clarity website (https://clarity.microsoft.com/), or block its cookies through your browser settings. This site does not currently serve ads and does not integrate Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or similar user-tracking or advertising platforms.

Usage Analytics

This site uses Microsoft Clarity to collect anonymized usage analytics so we can understand how visitors use the site and improve the experience. Clarity may record session recordings, heatmaps, click and scroll behavior, device type, browser and screen size, and approximate region (based on an anonymized IP). Clarity does not collect personal information such as your name, email, or phone number, and it does not read anything you enter into a tool (such as text, code, or files). Microsoft truncates and anonymizes IP addresses. If you do not wish to be recorded, you can block Clarity's cookies in your browser or see the Microsoft Privacy Statement for opt-out options.

Data Security

Because most tools process data directly in your browser, those tools carry no risk of server-side data breaches. For the small set of tools that do upload to our server, the data is used only for the requested operation and removed afterwards. We still recommend using this site on a trusted network and avoiding sensitive information on public or shared computers.

Children's Privacy

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you become aware that a child has submitted personal information without a guardian's consent, please contact us so we can delete it.

Policy Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically to stay informed about the latest privacy practices. Significant changes will be communicated through website announcements.
